Safety
When you should not book a session
Before a first visit we ask you to fill in a short health questionnaire. It is a standard safety procedure, not a formality – in some situations a session cannot go ahead, in others a conversation or a later date is enough.
Every technology has its own list, and they differ. Something that rules out a session in the chamber can be irrelevant for a massage – and the other way round.
Hyperbaric session
The session cannot go ahead
- pneumothorax, current or past and untreatedThe most commonly missed contraindication for hyperbaric sessions. Ask about it directly, do not bury it under a general „lung conditions”.
- untreated lung conditions with air trapping, for example bullous emphysema or severe COPD
- chemotherapy with bleomycin, cisplatin or doxorubicin, current or recentThe second most commonly missed item. Ask about drug names, not just about „cancer treatment” – someone who has had bleomycin usually does not know it matters with oxygen.
- recent surgery on the chest, ear or sinusesRecent surgery blocks. Ear surgery long in the past is a separate item and only a flag.
- pregnancy or suspected pregnancy
- fever or acute infection
- epilepsy and disorders of consciousness
- uncontrolled high blood pressure or unstable heart disease
- alcohol or intoxicating substances on the day of the visit
We move the appointment
This is not a refusal. We set a new date once the situation passes.
- a runny or blocked nose, or an upper respiratory infectionMove the appointment, never refuse. Without equalising the sinuses a session hurts, but in two weeks the same client will go into the chamber without trouble.
We will talk before the session
The session is usually possible, but we plan how it runs individually.
- past ear surgery or difficulty equalising pressure
- cancer currently being treatedAllowed only with the written consent of the treating doctor.
- diabetes, sensory disturbance or neuropathy
- claustrophobia or fear of enclosed spacesNot a block, but it decides how the visit goes. Better to suggest terahertz or a massage than to talk somebody into the chamber.
- under 18 years of age
- medication taken long-termAn open question, kept from the previous version of the form. It catches what no closed list can anticipate.
- a pacemaker or another implanted electronic deviceRequires confirmation from the manufacturer that the device is certified for raised pressure.
Stomach and face in one hour (microcurrent and radio frequency)
The session cannot go ahead
- pregnancy or suspected pregnancy
- epilepsy and disorders of consciousness
- cancer currently being treated
- a pacemaker or another implanted electronic deviceBlocks unconditionally, whatever the type of device.
- metal implants in the area the device works on
Pressotherapy, drainage
The session cannot go ahead
- heart failureA separate item from high blood pressure. Pressotherapy shifts blood towards the central circulation, and a failing heart has nothing to take it with.
- cancer currently being treated
- deep vein thrombosis or a past embolism
- acute inflammation of a limb
- a recent fracture
We will talk before the session
The session is usually possible, but we plan how it runs individually.
- pregnancy or suspected pregnancy
- varicose veins
- a history of lymph node removal
Terahertz

- taking photosensitising medicationApplies to the lamp version. Common with tetracycline antibiotics and retinoids.

We will talk before the session
The session is usually possible, but we plan how it runs individually.

- metal implants in the area the device works on
- a joint replacement or implant in the area the head works on
- full-dose anticoagulant treatment or a bleeding disorder
- varicose veins
- a history of lymph node removal

- skin conditions or a fresh tattoo (up to 4 weeks)
- cosmetic procedures within the last 2 weeks
- thyroid conditions
- menstruationApplies to work on the abdomen and lower back — we work the other areas as usual.
If any point applies to you
Do not give up in advance – contact us before booking. Some situations only need the consent of your treating doctor, others mean a different technology is the better choice. We will settle it together before the visit, not on the day.
REVIVO services are relaxation, recovery and wellness services. They are not healthcare services or medical advice, and they do not replace a consultation with a doctor.
