Terahertz – what it is and what to expect
Terahertz sounds like a name from a sales brochure and draws understandable suspicion. So we explain it plainly: what the device is, what a session looks like and – just as importantly – what we do not promise from it.
What is a terahertz session?
It is a device that uses gentle vibration waves for a massage with no contact with the body. At REVIVO we treat it purely as a relaxation technology – a session meant to give a feeling of unwinding and warmth.
It is not a medical procedure and it is not intended to treat any condition. If you come across other promises made about this technology, treat them with a great deal of caution.
What does a terahertz session look like, step by step?
You lie down comfortably in your clothes, our team explains how the session runs and sets up the device. For the next few dozen minutes you do nothing – there is no touch, no pressure and no need to change position.
Most people describe the sensation as gentle warmth and subtle vibration. Some fall asleep, and that is entirely fine.
Who does terahertz suit best?
A hands-off session is often the natural choice for people who, for whatever reason, do not get on with a classic massage.
- people who are not comfortable with hands-on massage
- people under heavy stress looking for a way to settle without effort
- older adults looking for a gentle form of relaxation
- people curious about new wellness technology
What will terahertz not do?
A terahertz session will not replace sleep, movement or a visit to the doctor. It will not remove the cause of long-standing tension if that cause is your way of living – but it can give you an hour of real rest, after which it is easier to take that on.
If you are after strong release in specific tight muscle groups, a massage is the better choice. We will tell you that in the conversation before your visit.
